Ardent Announces £1.7M Cat Fleet Purchase

Tuesday, March 22 nd, 2016

Ardent Hire Solutions formed through the amalgamation of One Call Hire and Fork Rent, has completed the latest phase of its ambitious £100m investment programme, signing a £1.7m ‘connected’ excavator fleet deal with UK and Ireland Caterpillar® dealer, Finning.

The new National plant hire specialist, received delivery of the new Cat 313FL GC units and Cat 320EL units over the last two weeks. With the order amounting to just over £1.7m, the machines not only add some of the latest, most energy efficient machines to the Ardent fleet, but also incorporate the innovative Finning EMSolutions technology-led service package. With this package, each unit is monitored by Finsight engineers using VisionLink™ GPS technology, helping Ardent to offer enhanced customer service and support.

The investment represents the first major Caterpillar fleet purchase by Ardent since they were established in August 2015. This was part of an ongoing £100m investment programme designed to make Ardent Britain’s premier plant hire company.

Commenting on the deal, Ardent Chief Executive, Steve Corcoran, said:

“We are extremely pleased to commit this new order to Finning for the latest Caterpillar machinery, our business is committed to providing our customers, best specified, best invested fleet from leading manufacturers supported with the best service.

“We are building our company based on our commitment to offer availability, reliability, capability and sustainability in all that we do. “

“As a solutions-based hire company, having a connected Caterpillar fleet, constantly monitored by Finning, through its team of experienced Finsight engineers, will really allow us to offer a sophisticated proactive and reactive maintenance process. This will enable us react to machine issues quicker and at times allow us to be on site before any of our machines show signs of maintenance related issues.”

“These are exciting times for the plant hire sector and the goal posts are changing all the time. So for me, having the best and youngest fleet, supported by the right partners, which is available through a growing national network, will be the key to our success.”
