Regional plant hire expert, Ruttle Group has invested in 19 new Cat® 312E hydraulic excavators from UK Caterpillar dealer Finning in a deal worth £1.5m.
Ruttle Group has seen an increase in demand for medium sized excavators, particularly in the booming house building market, leading to this recent investment. With the Cat 312E being an ideal solution for jobs within confined areas, the new machines will lend themselves to Ruttle’s housing construction specialisms, and also cater to wider applications due to the machine’s core versatility and tooling options.
It is a show of confidence from the firm, which has grown to become a key player in the North West. Starting up in 1958 and now expanding its operations into the Midlands, Ruttle boasts sites in Chorley, Preston, Chesterfield and Lichfield.
Powered by the Cat C4.4 Acert™ engine, combined with a real focus on fuel efficiency and cost, the Cat 312E’s speed and control functionality means that Ruttle’s customers will maintain the productivity of previous Cat 312 models, but with large efficiency gains, bringing down operating costs.
The two modes: ‘high power’ and ‘economy’ will allow operators to switch in relation to the type of application the machine is undertaking, meaning fuel usage is optimised at all times. These economical features have not affected the machine’s durability, with a structure and undercarriage designed to thrive in the most rugged of environments.
Commenting on the deal, Alan Blazys, machine salesman for Finning, stated: “The Cat 312E is one of the most diverse small hydraulic excavators on the market, with its productivity and adaptability set to benefit many of Ruttle Group’s customers. Thanks to Finning’s support offerings, Ruttle has also seen significant value added to the deal with the service and analytical solutions we have provided.
“Finning also worked with Cat Finance to put together the ideal bespoke package for Ruttle, including a three year service contract, plus the support of the Finsight’s team of engineers to report on the machines’ productivity, utilisation and fuel efficiency.”
