Oil & Gas Power Systems
Cat power systems, proven in oil & gas applications throughtout thw world, are designed to be durable and deliver low operating costs.
Finning has provided a range of power solutions to floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) systems throughout the globe.
Our units can be bespoke-engineered to meet DNV marine society requirements and can provide the necessary power for production, pumping, drilling, gas compression and well servicing applications.
In addition, we can supply engine solutions that ensure the immediate provision of constant, reliable power in the event of an emergency and guaranteed start up in standby situations, which are fully compliant with offshore fire regulations.
In the event of an emergency, our Cat® engines and ancillary equipment can be designed to operate at specific degrees or tilt for up to 24 hours.
Generators can be installed in a purpose-built, containerised module, enabling them to withstand a fire for up to 60 minutes without affecting generator performance. Fire suppression can also be incorporated into each container, using an inert gas designed to meet IMO regulations.
As part of the normal progression through engineering reviews, Finning can work with the client to ensure the design meets specific requirements, including careful consideration of overall package weight and size. This includes custom-engineering components to meet the specification requirement and space available on the FPSO.
