Canada Post Strike

Canada Post announced a workforce strike that began on November 15, 2024. Here’s what you need to know about how this strike might affect you and what we’re doing to mitigate its impact.

Fluid Analysis Customers

The strike will delay the transit times of our pre-addressed Canada Post sample mailer bags. To ensure your samples reach our lab without delay, we recommend dropping them off at your local Finning branch. Our branch teams will get your samples to the lab.

Payments, Invoices, and Statements

If you make or receive payments by cheque through traditional mail, the postal strike is an excellent opportunity to switch to our electronic delivery and payment options. These methods are quick, efficient, and avoid the delays of traditional mail. Plus, they’re cost-effective and eco-friendly!

Customer Options (Accounts Receivable)

Invoicing/statement/payments:

  • Email or Customer Portal: If you have chosen email or our customer portal, your deliveries will remain unaffected.

  • Postal Deliveries: Please note that the postal strike will delay mail deliveries if you have chosen this option.

  • Payment Methods: You can make payments via electronic funds transfer (EFT), wire transfer, or credit card instead of cheques. 

  • Contact Us: For a copy of Finning’s banking details or any invoice or statement-related inquiries, call us toll-free at 1-888-FINNING (346-6464) and ask for Accounts Receivable, or email us at accountsreceivablecanada@finning.com.

Vendor Options (Accounts Payable)

Payments/invoices

  • Electronic Invoices: Please submit invoices electronically.

  • Payment Delays: Payment delivery may be delayed due to the strike.

  • Contact Us: Call us toll-free at 1-888-FINNING (346-6464) and ask for Accounts Payable to set up electronic funds transfer (EFT) or discuss Visa payment options, if available. For payment or invoice inquiries, email us at accountspayable@finning.ca.

Transportation

High-Priority Deliveries:

  • The strike will delay Canada Post deliveries and our approved couriers who use Canada Post. 

  • Contact your local sales rep or parts counter if you have concerns.
