ABL VIMS for Large Mining Trucks (LMT)

PREREQUISITES

Students will be encouraged to bring their own laptops to class to make sure they all have the correct set-up, up to date programs / data-base files that is required for successful communication with the VIMS on-board system.

Some requirements that would be beneficial to attending personal would be as follows:

• Prior working knowledge of VIMS and previous exposure on the truck.
• Must have “power user rights” or “Admin Rights” on the laptop they bring to class.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Topics and information covered in the 2 days are as follows:

• Background on VIMS and tooling required to receive the full functionality.

• How keypad has been incorporated into the VIMS platform.

• Operation of ABL VIMS while connected to the machine and the process of communication with the on-board system.

• Basic set –up and configurations for ABL VIMS.

• Background on the operation and the two different operating platforms available within the main system.

• Introduction into VIMS discussion on types of data

• Identify switches and sensors used for data inputs into VIMS.

• Gain understanding of VIMS communication.

• Understand levels of warning categories and diagnostic codes

• Understanding of ABL communications

• Seven Categories VIMS memory (Event List, Snapshot, Data logger, Trends, Cumulative, Histograms, Payload)

• Utilizing the message center in ABL
