COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 2 x 10-hour days
Target Audience: Heavy Equipment Technicians (HETs)

C-175 Engine for 793F LMT

PPE Required

Participants must provide their own safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and coveralls with Hi-Visibility Markings.

PREREQUISITES

None.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

After course completion the participant will have the ability to

  • Engine overview and changes from the 3500 series engine
  • Fuel system overview and system operation
  • High-pressure pump operation and control
  • Valve train and valve lash overview
  • Timing and pinning the engine to T.D.C.C
  • Fuel injector removal and installation
  • Sensor network, datalink, and system control
  • Cooling system overview @ “E” Stat system operation
  • Oil lubrication overview & system operation
  • Cooling system and lubrication system identification (on engine)
  • Fuel system review and component identification
  • Accurately go through operation/maintenance/testing/troubleshooting of the Fuel system.
