COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 1 x 8-hour day
Target Audience: Non-Ticketed Employees

This course covers the Caterpillar Powertrain and Control Systems and will give the participant a broad understanding of the components involved and how the various Hydraulic, Torque converter, Torque Divider, Transmission, Hydrostatic and Control Systems operate. The participant will gain an understanding of the related components, and basic concepts of the various systems.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

After completion the participant will have a basic understanding of:

  • Identify the different Powertrain Systems in CAT equipment
  • Understand a basic operation of Powertrain Systems
  • Look up information in SIS related to components of a Powertrain System
  • Understand the terminology associated with Powertrain Systems
