COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 1 x 8-hour day
Target Audience: Non-Ticketed Employees

This course provides a general overview of electrical systems found on Caterpillar mobile equipment. The participant will have a basic understanding of how the starting, charging, monitor and display systems function. Information on basic electronic control systems, schematics, electrical faults, and codes will also be covered.

  • Wiring circuits and harnesses
  • Electrical Faults
  • Starting and charging systems

  • Senders, sensors, and switches
  • Trouble and event codes
  • Engine electronic controls
  • Electrical schematics
  • Operator station controls
