Finning is inducted into the Thompson Rivers University President’s Circle

Finning has proudly supported Thompson Rivers University for many years and in 2024 we reached a significant milestone – being inducted into the Thompson Rivers University President’s Circle.

"This shows a growing commitment and partnership between Finning and TRU and supporting local students to further their careers,” said Finning’s Customer Service Manager, John Connor. “Thank you to every member of the Kamloops team for your contributions and efforts that lead to recognition like this, and for continuing to be proud community partners where we live and work.”

The TRU President's Circle is a way to recognize donors for their extraordinary contributions to TRU. Donors are inducted into the Circle when their lifetime contributions to the TRU Foundation exceed $100,000. The President’s Circle began in 2010 and is held every two years. As of March 1, 2024, Finning’s philanthropic giving surpassed $100,000.

Our support has come in various forms, including monetary donations, gifts in kind, participation in events like the TRU Foundation Gala, and the establishment of the Finning/Caterpillar Award endowment. This award is given to a graduating student from the entry-level Heavy Duty Mechanics program based on academic achievement and qualities like leadership, teamwork, and a willingness to help fellow students.
