Our Finning team is acknowledged as a leading international supplier of Caterpillar marine propulsion systems as well as primary and auxiliary electric power installations. We have supplied and supervised the installation of propulsion systems in naval, coast guard, ferry service, yachts, fish boats and many types of work vessels whose owners are turning to total propulsion systems suppliers.
Our team has the ability to work with the owner's marine architect and engineers to recommend the propulsion and auxiliary power systems. Our engineering department will provide all, or any portion of, the necessary engineering drawings, installation drawings, and technical backup. In a recent application, our team was responsible for the supply and installation of four Cat 3512B electronic diesels and two Cat 3306TA engines matched with 190kw SR4 IMO compliant generators, in a new 1,780 ton ferry. Our marine specialists worked closely with the shipyard and were instrumental in supplying the correct torsional coupling for the installation. During sea-trials, we has also worked closely with the owners on dual-fuel testing for a possible future conversion to natural gas.
