Finning UK & Ireland, the UK’s sole Caterpillar equipment dealer, has launched the brand-new range of Cat® next generation hydraulic mini-excavators to the UK & Ireland market. Following the official release of the new machines at Caterpillar’s Malaga Press Launch in February, the new minis are set to revolutionise the compact equipment market.
Joining the 20-tonne and 30-tonne family of next generation excavators, the new models range from a Cat 301.5 up to a Cat 310, the first of a new ten-tonne size class from Caterpillar. The new machines provide operators with a number of benefits including advanced technology, improved performance and easier maintenance.
Inside the cab, new LCD monitors allow operators to access all the information they need quickly and easily and the entire range features the unique “stick-steer” option; this allows operators to switch between conventional lever/foot-pedal steering to joystick control at the touch of a button. The cabs themselves are also pressurized, providing increased comfort and dust suppression.
The new technology is complemented by better performance, due to a load-sensing hydraulic system and a dozer blade, and improved fuel efficiency thanks to new Cat engines that contain in-built idle-control and automatic shutdown systems. Maintenance of the new machines is also easier due to ground-level access for routine check-ups, whilst the smaller models feature tilt-up cabs that provide quick access to the major hydraulic systems.
Finning UK & Ireland will be showcasing the new range of next-generation hydraulic mini-excavators at this year’s Plantworx show, held on the 11th-13thJune at the East of England Arena in Peterborough. The range will be on stand and also featured in the show’s demonstration arena, where attendees can try out the machines for themselves.
