What is a Cat Certified Rebuild?

Cat Certified Rebuilds is a set process globally defined by Caterpillar

There are specified parts that must be inspected, reused or replaced.

  • Includes testing and inspections
  • Requires certain engineering updates
  • Has a strict set of standards to follow
  • Full machine Cat Certified Rebuilds get a rebuild identification number that give it a new identity
Can I Finance my rebuild through Cat Financial?

Cat Certified Rebuild: Yes, most customers can finance through Cat financial. Eligibility will vary depending on the country or region.

Customers may also bundle Customer Value Agreement (CVA) offerings at the time of their rebuild.

How long does a rebuild take?

The completion time will vary depending on the type of rebuild and the scope of work and for some models, there is even a ‘Fast Lane’. Timeframes will be discussed during the process.

As a guide:

  • Component Rebuild (approximately 2-3 weeks),
  • Powertrain Rebuild (4-8 weeks)
  • Full Machine Rebuild (8-12 weeks) depending on machine and scope of work

All timeframes are guidelines; time may vary on circumstance.

What does “same-as-new” mean for a rebuild?

This is defined by the type of warranty available. Finning has the parts, service, and expertise available to keep your rebuilt machine or components on the job, performing ‘same-as-new’.

A 12-month warranty on components or the full machine, depending on the rebuild. Obtaining a CVA for the machine’s second life can help cover and plan for future maintenance and rebuilds.

Most EPP offerings are available for Cat certified rebuilds.

Why are rebuilds completed at a Cat dealer?

What equipment protection options can I get with a Cat Certified Rebuild?

Equipment Protection Plan (EPP) options are available for most models.

EPP will vary depending on your selected scope of rebuild and the component/s or machine.

Can I put a customer value agreement (CVA) on my rebuild?
